June was a month of cruise opinions.
We explored everything from inexpensive cruise accessories and booking strategies to one of the most debated topics at sea.
Along the way, one theme kept appearing:
What works perfectly for one cruiser might not work at all for another.
If you missed any issues this month, here's a quick look back.
What’s next is almost here.
On July 16th at 1PM ET, beehiiv is going live with a look at the future of publishing, audience growth, and digital business.
What started as a newsletter platform has evolved into something much bigger: a place where creators and brands can grow, monetize, and own their audiences without stitching together half the internet to make it work.
The next chapter starts live at the Summer Release Event.

Not every cruise upgrade comes with a hefty price tag.
This issue explored several inexpensive cruise items that experienced cruisers swear by, including magnetic hooks, motion-sensor night lights, waterproof phone pouches, packing cubes, and other simple purchases that solve surprisingly common cruise problems.
The funny thing is that most of these items seem completely unnecessary right up until the moment you need them.
Then they suddenly become cruise essentials.
One of the first decisions many cruisers make happens long before embarkation day.
Should you book directly with the cruise line or use a travel agent?
In this issue, we looked at the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches.
Some travelers value having an expert available to answer questions and handle problems.
Others prefer managing everything themselves.
As it turns out, there isn't one correct answer.
The best booking method often depends on your experience level, travel style, and personal preferences.

This may have been the most eye-opening topic of the month.
Why can two people sail on the exact same ship, visit the exact same ports, and come home with completely different opinions?
The answer is simple:
People cruise for different reasons.
Some love giant ships packed with activities.
Others prefer smaller ships and quiet sea days.
Some dream about luxury experiences.
Others simply want an affordable vacation and a beautiful ocean view.
The perfect cruise doesn't exist.
The right cruise for you does.
If there were an award for the most debated topic in cruising, automatic gratuities would be a strong contender.
In this issue, we explored both sides of the argument.
Some cruisers believe gratuities should remain because they help support crew members throughout the ship.
Others feel these charges should simply be included in the advertised fare or prefer tipping crew members directly.
We also tackled one of the biggest questions passengers ask:
Do crew members actually receive the gratuities the way many passengers assume they do?
It's a surprisingly complicated topic, which helps explain why the debate never seems to end.
The Theme of June
Looking back, all four issues shared something in common.
Cruising is personal.
The accessory one cruiser considers essential may seem unnecessary to someone else.
The booking method one passenger loves may feel frustrating to another.
The perfect ship for one traveler may be the wrong choice for someone else.
Even something as simple as gratuities can spark entirely different opinions among experienced cruisers.
And that's one of the reasons cruising remains so interesting.
There isn't a single formula for having a great cruise.
There are simply different ways to enjoy one.
🛒 Amazon Pick of the Month
Most cruise cabin walls are made of metal, which means these simple hooks instantly create extra storage space for hats, lanyards, swimsuits, backpacks, and more without damaging the cabin.
They're inexpensive, take up almost no room in your suitcase, and quickly become one of those items you'll pack for every cruise.
