It was a very cold January. With temperatures across Canada dipping to around –15°C, thinking about warm cruise destinations felt especially comforting.
We stayed in cruise mode, talking through the small habits and decisions that can make a warm-weather sailing feel even better once you’re there.

This issue was all about nighttime cruising and the mix of calm, fun, and late-night energy that comes once the sun goes down.
We talked about:
Why the ship feels completely different after dark.
Quiet deck walks, live music drifting from lounges, and wandering without a plan.
Late-night pizza, karaoke and the magic of not rushing anywhere
Some of the best cruise memories don’t happen on an itinerary, they happen when you stay up just a little later than planned.
This one tackled the idea that saving money doesn’t mean sacrificing fun.
We covered:
Choosing a few splurges you’ll actually remember.
Using what’s already included (because you paid for it).
Why paying per item can feel more freeing than “unlimited” packages.
A cruise feels better when you spend on purpose, not out of pressure.

A small cabin issue that makes a big difference: light.
We talked about:
Where sneaky light comes from (curtain gaps, hallways, balconies).
Simple, packable fixes that actually work.
Better sleep = better cruise. This is one detail worth planning for.
January wrapped up with a reality check on overpacking.
We looked at:
Items people bring “just in case” that never get used.
What cruise ships already provide.
How packing lighter leads to less stress and more space.
You’re not heading into the wilderness, you’re boarding a floating hotel.
January was full of practical, and very cruise-brain focused, setting the tone for what’s coming next. More tips, fewer regrets, and smoother sailings ahead.
